Synthesis and Working Principle of Molecular sieve
Two methods of preparation:
A. Hydrothermal method
B. Alkali treatment method.
Working Principle:
The molecules are adsorbed on the crystal surface of molecular sieve by physical affinity (Vader Waals). For 95% surface of the molecular sieve is in the cavum, molecules pass through by sieving, and only those relatively small molecules could pass through. This selective adsorption phenomenon is called Molecular sieve Effect.
Application of Molecular sieve for Insulating Glass
For insulating glass, molecular sieves (3A in particular) are ideal specialized desiccants because of high selectivity and capacity of adsorption for water.
Correlative Concepts and Technical Indexes for Molecular sieve
1. Dew point:
It is the temperature to which air must be cooled in order to reach saturation (assuming air pressure and moisture content are constant).
The lower the atmospheric moisture is, the lower the Dew point is.
2. Temperature Promoting:
It is referring to the phenomenon of temperature increasing for molecular sieve after adsorption, as adsorption is an exothermic process. The split temperature promoting could be used as one index of fast sop ability for molecular sieve.
3. Moisture Absorption Capacity:
The maximal water adsorbed capacity of molecular sieve with a given quantity of molecular sieve. It is also an important index for molecular sieve.
4.Nitrogen adsorption Capacity(Static adsorption)
The maximal Nitrogen adsorbed capacity of molecular sieve with a given quantity of molecular sieve. It is also an important index for molecular sieve.
5.Bulk density is the weight of molecular sieve with unit volume.
Influence of technical index of product on IG capability
1.The lower dew point is, the less the chance of atomization on inner surface of IG is. And it can adapt better to the climate.
2.The higher is temperature promoting, the larger is the adsorption efficiency with water of molecular sieve. Hence the gas inside IG has low dew point.
3.The higher the moisture adsorption capacity is, the larger water adsorption capacity of molecular sieve is. This can extend the life of IG product.
4.The lower the nitrogen adsorption capacity is, the lower changes of temperature and pressure in IG is. In that way, the less possibilities the IG distortion has.
5.The larger bulk density is, the more molecular sieves are filled in unit volume, and more water adsorption.
